I shoot recurve but i'de lke to know is it true that the better the gear the less forgiving it gets.If so, what takes the most time and effort to overcome?. _________________ I may not hit much but .... I LOOK DAMN GOOD!.

"less forgiving" thats an interesting term woozle. To me archery gear is a machine and has no forgiveness, but simply does as the operator tells it, my take anyway. I personally think that good form practiced regularly so that all actions are subconscious, is the way to go then you can truly act (nearly) the same way all the time. This will then give you accuracy and with that comes good scores. This just my 2 cents worth

Our coach states that longbow archery is far less forgiving than other types. He doesn't have much time for compound at all, liking compound bows to bicycles (wheel on the front etc). That said, he has had more than 30+ years of experience shooting so I don't argue with him. I think my recurve is quite forgiving. It is simple and doesn't have the whistles and bangs other people have on their bows at the moment. We have been warned off buying rods, stabilisers and pressure buttons until we are sure what we want. Personally, I shoot alright without the nonsense once the sight is set up. The rest is technique and practise. Our coach also stated that you can't buy points and that's a valuable bit of advice.
