Went and saw the Physio yesterday and she said that I was able to shoot some arrows again, boy was it wonderful to shoot again at our indoor . Was rather pleased with how I went considering I hadn't shot for nearly three months. One thing I did notice is that the Commander is very heavy in the hand even without the stabilisers and sight, so I have decided that it has to go, to make sure that I can rehabilitate correctly I need to make sure that the weight in my hand is less that the commander 4 1/2 lbs undressed gotta go. I shall keep my eyes open for something that is going to come in under 4 lbs undressed, that doesnt leave me to many options so I shall have to look hard.

Well I have found that my tendon is a bit sore today, I must have overdone it slightly   but it certainly is not a pain like I had been having, it feels like a muscle that I have over worked. The Physio is pleased at where I am at and doesn't want to see me for another 2 weeks. Mind you I stiull have my exercises to do as well as shooting. I am going to drag out the Merlin XT and shoot that as the balance and weight seems to be much better than the Commander, so I shall have to set that up and see how it all goes. I do have an a IFAA to shoot this coming Sunday. Not sure if I will have enough in me to finish it or not though, might be putting the arm under to much stress to expect it to cope with 112 arrows, I shall have to see how I can get the balance of the Merlin.

Slow and steady will win this race and that I shall be, I have retrieved my practice butt from the old place finally and have now installed it in my wonderfully large garage at the new place. So I can at least fiddle and get things set up and working properly with out over taxing my arm (If I go out the range I shall have to do it all in one session at home I can take my time)

Good to hear you are on the mend. Take it very carefully, recovery is usually a long slow road.

Great news Steve, I know how much you  have been waiting for this day, like you say though take it steady and you'll come out on top, shame about the Commander, maybe you just need to build up to that weight again

Glad to see you back on the mend, bro. I had the same question about my bow arm coping with the inherent weight of the coming new bow, a bit concerning. Therapist recommended starting with a two-pound lifting weight doing a straight-arm series of repetitions, duplicating the position the arm will end up in as it lifts a bow to draw and aim. I can feel it in my shoulder and elbow, but things are coming back slowly. I'd suspect that, if you try this, you shouldn't do so until that tendon is back in shape, just a thought as we both seem to be running in parallel universes at the moment. Everything in moderation as they say.

Yes Steve, the exercise you speak of is what I am doing, with added weight so I am simulating the weight of the bow, funny though that the balance of the bow is critical as well for some reason that helps heapsin managing everything. I have also noticed that I am wearing a band around my forearm up near the elbow, the Physio has said that this helps the tendon as the muscle takes the work and lets the tendon get off easier, I know I need to do more work and further strengthening of the muscle with exercises, but shooting in moderation is also good but when it hurts stop....... It didn't really hurt the other night as such , but I knew when I should stop, so I am getting smarter

I am so glad that you too Bro are doing well, we will be back in the leagues before we know it
