Had another X-ray today, and immediately regretted going. Doctor has now exiled me from any kind of archery and/or weight training for three months, and it could be longer depending upon how I heal up. Seems that I pulled several items in my shoulder along with the original injury to the forearm, but they didn't really start bothering me until the weight of the cast started aggravating them. I was able to persuade the sawbones not to put me in a more elaborate rig, but just barely, so I'm to be wrapped up like King Tut most of the day, along with the sling and cast. Had to ditch the meds, though, too rough on the digestion and I still have to drive occasionally. I can type, at least, but I bear a striking resemblance to a T-Rex, my nose jammed against the screen as I lean over the keyboard so that my fingers can reach it. Just hope I don't sneeze, not sure the flatscreen would take it...

Only thing about this that REALLY ticks me off is that my Phoenix is supposed to be delivered soon. Figures. The other bows sit silently lamenting their situation to me from the wall rack, and I wonder to myself as to whether I'll ever have the chance to indulge them again. Think I'll take up Haiku, maybe I'm grouchy enough now...or perhaps start an AR hospital ward with Fred and Steve B...Gotta work out how to shoot arrows down the halls using my teeth and toes...Hey nurse! Just stand still, promise I won't touch the hat...

Bad news!  Reminds me of the quote:

"When I read about the evils of drinking, it shocked me so much I had to give up reading..."

A haiku to start you off...

Doc says "do not shoot"
Your Phoenix will sit idle
Send it to me, then!

Take it slow and let it heal - the Phoenix will be there waiting for you when you can shoot it.

(Now off sick as well - right lung not working)

Three Months..you gotta be kidding me !!!!!   geez I am off to see about my elbow in a few hours so I shall see what I am told

Steve you have my deepest sympathies I do not know how I would cope with out anything archery .... I can at least coach at the club, I have my Association Web site and the test site I am working on as well, plus my normal haunts.... I have a National executive meeting on the 9th in Brisbane and then in mid march, the National Tittles which if I can't shoot at least I can assist in the running and help in way they require, at least I have that.

I am guessing the you shall be on the computer lots searching around following your pet subjects    I would also suggest that Kathy's geisha outfit will be on hold till you can resume your modeling duties   and I am sure the Phoenix will turn up in the next week to allow you the maximum time to look at with out shooting it.

Now one important piece of advice Bro
is that you better do as your told or you might have to wait six months till you can shoot , so make sure you do it right or that sick ward will be on

I promise to listen to all my medical advisers, especially here.

Captain Beaky, a better one is this by Matsuo Basho:

Teeth sensitive to the sand
in salad greens--
I'm getting old.

Gutted for you Steve

If the worst does come though there are ways of shooting with one arm, not that it will come to that I'm sure, rest up for now and reap the rewards later
