As promised to Kathyg. Here is a brief run down of the borders shoot. Just the comedy highlights.
We started out at 2pm on Saturday in a mini bus that could only be described as the furthest from luxury travel I have ever been in. The handle on the inside of the passenger door was broken and we could only get out if one of the kind souls in the front opened it for us or a lot of pulling and grunting was undertaken (not good when one had to answer the call of nature). We trusted our direction to a lovely electronic lady called Sat Nav and she made an effort to stear us in the wrong direction as often as she could causing a great deal of foul language from our driver who's temper was not overly improved by calls of "are we there yet" from those of us in the back which started less than a mile into our 5 hour journey.

We and lady sat nav finally made it safe and sound to our destination, a youth hostel in Melrose. The men in the group were given a dorm to themselves the lucky devils. We girls however were given a shared room in the basement which consisted of metal bunk beds with the worlds hardest matress and flatest pillow. And surrond sound snoring from the other occupant which went on all bl@@dy night. Needless to say we got no sleep.

The shoot itself was great fun, got to meet loads of really nice people including Malcy ( it was great to chat even for a wee while) and it went not to bad, but as I said I pulled a leg muscle (got myself tangled up in the bunkbed, don't ask!!) and had had no sleep so, could have done better.

The journey home took a long time and we played eye spy for about 4 hours which believe me ain't easy in the dark. I still don't believe invisible objects can be used in the game I mean honestly who can see oxygen.

Would I do it again, yes in the blink of an eye, but in a better bus and a proper hotel.

omg, sorry about the accommodations, blackcat, honestly, cots in a basement?!? somebody needs to organize the flops a bit better, though finding a good B&B might be expensive. sounds like you'd have been better off in a tent by yourself.

when we got our car, the dealer wanted to put in a GPS-NAV system for an incentive. we both told the boy to put better tires on the car instead, hate the stupid thingies. had the voice warnings removed too, so it's relatively quiet outside of a few bings and bongs. technology is just too much of a pain for some uses.

It didn't help that there was a big Horse Race on in Kelso that weekend. I was very lucky and found a single room that had only just been cancelled the day I called. If that room haddn't come up then I'd have brought a tent

After your previous shoot at Border, I'm frankly amazed that you didn't bring your tent
