Was extremely glad to read of the Dynamic Duo's adventures in Cuckoo Clock Land, congrats to them and looking forward to further enlightenment on their battles with weather, bum equipment and bad health. Should make a good book someday.

Decided to haul out the recurve for a little evening practice, a warm-up for when Fred's ELB arrives (possibly Tuesday, I'm told). Was startled to see when going outside that forest fires burning in other parts of the state have thrown so much smoke into the air that a smoggy haze is settling over the valley. We've had dry-lightning thunderstorms and blowing dust for the last week, which has contributed to the murky atmosphere, and we've yet to see much in the way of the anticipated rainy season. Got in enough shots to make sure I wouldn't pull something tender, then went inside to breath fresher air. Be glad when the monsoon starts, be more glad when the longbow arrives (thank you, fred).

Blackcat:

Was going to ask what tender thing you thought you would pull but decided I really don't want to know. . You have to post pics of Freds bow when you get it and tell me how it feels to shoot. I bet you'll love it.

Ain't the weather a bitch, it always seems to play up when your in the mood to loose a few. .

Around these parts, wood arrows shrivel up if you twang after 9:00 A.M., and anything wood expands unbelievably when the thunderstorms move in with the heat. Got a feeling I'm gonna need a shaft straightener big time.

If I can get Kathy to show how the camera works again, I'll get some pics on here, never fear. We'll see how many of his arrows survive my apprenticeship.

Steve B:

Looking forward to having pics of your "Apprenticship" Steve... And I mght add that you will have a great time with it. I shot my recurve last night and had a whale of a time, so I know you will when your bow arrives from Fred....
