First off, I ditched the wrist sling and am now looking at making a thumb sling instead. Found that a light grip works better for me at the moment, don't know why.
The SRF sight is giving me more consistent groups, though I think I'm going to end up ordering the smaller aperture.
The Gold Tip XT Hunters are working fine, much to the chagrin of the "carbon gurus" on some other sites. Sometimes going the cheap route does work.
Will be ordering some new strings in April, as having only two around makes me nervous. Already had one factory-made job start to fray badly on me, so custom seems to be the way to go.
Am seriously looking into a scope for the Quinn recurve sometime down the road. Diabetes is effecting my eyesight, so I want something that can keep me in the game for a while longer. Don't know how many years I've got left, but I'm not giving up yet.
Bought a cheapo tab last week, calf-hair and leather type to experiment with. Seems more consistent than the glove now that I've changed my anchor to the jaw-line. May order a better one next month, still undecided as yet.
Weather has finally started warming back up, hopefully no more storms until monsoon season in July. Good thing about the recent freeze is that it's killed off an early mosquito season. West Nile Virus is endemic now, and I hate running around outside in netting or smelling repellent all day. Dogs are already having problems with flies as it is. _________________ "For I have drawn Judah taut and applied [My hand] to Ephraim as to a bow." Zech. 9:13

I much prefer the finger tab than the glove, I feel they are much more consistent and the feel is better on the fingers. Why don't you make your own string Steve? I do and really it isnt hard to do after the first one Be happy to help however I can with info on string making Steve, but I am sure that you have the info and just lack a small amount of confidence to make em yourself. Nice to know that all is going well for you with the recurve and I know you will enjoy the scope when you go that way.

Guess I'm still a bit nervous about that as yet, Steve. Probably get around to making 'em eventually, when I can ditch the feelings I had when my first bow blew up on me. Still don't know if it was the string that snapped first or the limb, but I didn't pick up another bow for 35 years after the stitches healed. Some things you never grow out of.
As for the tab, have found a couple of good deals, trying to decide between the Cav Lite Elite and the new Soma. The Soma looks ideal, but a real drain on the wallet, so I'll probably go the cheaper route.
