Now after the first arrow has flown from his Saracen recurve, would he shoot the three remaining from the other side, as they do in Kyudo...?

Grab one.... massive overdraw to get arrow on correct side of bow, attempt to not damage bow.... bring down to full draw, attempt to not put broadhead through back of hand.... sight, atempt not to be put off by sight picture having more than one arrow reference point in it...  loose, remembering to follow string with hand to grab next arrow, attempt not to slash hand as broadhead slips between fingers...  Rinse and repeat, attempt not to get Marion killed this time!

Hey!
I know that the latest series is full of mistakes and is about as historically accurate as "Men in Tights" but at least they didnt make Robin a Frenchman as they did in Shrek!!!!

Ah, but he's a hero, he can apparently shoot from either side of his bow, holding extra arrows in his bow hand...

It's a very entertaing show.  The thing I find most unreal is Jack, the saracen transvestite

Not sure Robin Hood on the BBC is going to be quite so appealing now that Marion has been killed off

I can't stand this series..

A horsebow that is supple enough to turn into a lair, and yet still strong enough to throw an arroww through a door mmmmmmmmmm

And a sherrif that gave us a whiney north london singer that can't and who miss represents her self.

Maybe she has a twin sister, who's been holed up in a nunnery learning then ancient & mystical art of penguin-fu and is going to turn up to avenge Marion's death.  Initially believing Robin to be the culprit she tracks him down to their secret lair in the middle of Sherwood Forest (the one that is about 100-yards from the road and must have so much traffic there's trodden path to it's door) where they battle using loaves of french bread until Robin manages to convince her of the truth.  After that she joins the 'Merry Men' although still holds Robin partly responsible and displays a level of disdain for him. Over time this turns into a grudging respect that eventually goes all squidgy and they start looking doe-eyed at each other.  This is just in time for the season finale where she gets killed by the Sheriff (or does she?).

I'm sure we've seen this storyline before.

She must be learning deja-fu...

Right, in all seriousness, if he tried shooting off the other side with fingers he'd find he arrows flew in a very unexpected direction indeed. But perhaps ol' Robin knows more than us.

Before you even critise the archery, perhaps we could get them to sort out the leather RAF jackets and machined collars? Dropping the Hungarian guardsmen would be good too.

I'm betting that the last series was all a dream (she didn't die, honest).

Just out of interest, and in all seriousness... In those times (and I acknowledge that the bow isn't correct) would they have had serving on the string as in the pic? When did this start, have they always had it, or is it relatively 'new'?
