Aw thanks guy's

I went to merlin today to get a last practice in for my big day tomorrow so i took the opportunity to shoot my 60 arrow target score as practice.
1st of all i started out with my usual carbon impacts which have worked very well in the past, but today i didn't seem to pop the arrow right where i wanted it, so off into the shop i went to talk to Ben and Chris to see if there was something that could be done to improve it, well Chris took my infinity arrow rest off a replaced it with the Merlin Apollo launcher and very nice it is too! and then handed me some of Ben's old arrows Easton E7 Eclipse which are massive to what I've ever shot before, off he sent me to the range for another 2 dozen arrows, well it was only great news from then on, they are perfect and they are the arrows that gave me the score i have today - brilliant 592 off 600 is better than i expected and with 31 X's i can't complain at that    I felt in the grove with it today,  comfortable and relaxed with a little bit of pressure from shooting along side Ben and Chris as they joined us just after i started my scoring and if anything it gave me that spark i needed to be accurate. So for tomorrow i feel quite confident, a little nervous still but that's ok for me i need a little nerves to get me going it always works
Thanks for all your boosting words

Ruthy x

Like the E7's, use them in several of my bows, excellent choice. Good shooting!

I am going to be using X7 for all my indoor requirements this year as well ruthy, they are really good, cut slightly longer than they should be and 200 grain points ...way to go for indoor     Did I mention 4" feathers as well ?

Is that a similar set up or are Bens old one correctly spined and use vanes? (I will be using 23 12's)

Very Nice score indeed Ruthy ...you are going to be the one to catch me thinks

Just got back...
shot 10 dozen arrows over two sessions one this morning and the other this afternoon.
We were shooting the 5 spot blue and white face scoring 5 for the white and 4 for the rest We had 5 arrows an end
and we were given 5 sighters and then straight into it and the distance was set at 18 meters!

My initial reaction was "Oh my god, look how small the 5 zone is"
The 1st group had been up for their 1st session so we were next to go for our first session and it started pretty well for me i hadn't dropped a point, we got half way and still a hadn't dropped a point - i felt good and had relaxed nicely into a rhythm scoring a good amount of X's along with my 5's
It got to last 2 ends and i was well aware of the fact i still hadn't dropped any points and the nerves returned but i managed to hold it together, just and scored a max 300 points with 48 X's. I was choked and amazed in my achievement. I shot better than i expected and very very happy.
We had a break for the the 2 group to do their 2nd session and it gave me chance to get nervous about my 2nd half! I thought if i could do that again that would be great!!! but in reality a just wanted to get a respectable score!
Tony Weston had also scored a 300 max on his first session and he was up now for his 2nd half - he finished on a 299 so he had dropped 1 point in all over his 2 sessions.

They finished and we were up for our 2nd half...
Again it started ok a little shaky but once again i found my groove and stayed in it, again i hadn't dropped any points and it came to the last end and the nerves hit me! my 3rd arrow was a really dodgy one and i couldn't tell if i'd hit the 4 or the 5 all i knew it was blooming close and i wouldn't be able to tell until we went to score!      It was in!!!!

I scored another max with 43 X's
2 national records and a national Championship title and getting the highest score of the day
I'm still amazed at what i have achieved today - brilliant!

Dave shot his socks off too, he manage to overcome his nerves putting in some fantastic shots and at one point made me worry that he might beat me, he shot the most consistent I've seen him shoot in ages he kept his cool throughout  and shot great - well done Dave I'm proud of you and yes you nearly beat me! so you owe me 6 whole English pounds please.

Thanks to you all for your words of encouragement it did help

Ruthy
xx
