Hello
Merlin light storm 2
Then I upgraded the limbs to the new short ones and the viper cams. My bow is now faster than the new XS and XT but ssssh don`t tell anyone.
The reason I did the upgrade and didn`t buy the new bow is simply because I like the old one.

Thats fair enough Chris, if you like the bow and your happy with it then why change it? I shot recurve with a 15 year old bow and I shot it well, I never changed it because I loved it.

Smart move Chris, if you like it why the hell not use it. Besides I am sure people only upgrade cause they can , not because they have a valid reason.
A Valid reasson is not because you want one mind you I use that and don't get into to much trouble.

I have two longbows at present.
Bickerstaff - laminate - 35lb
Ron Palmer - laminate - 50lb
I also enjoy shoting Bowhunter (for which I borrow a compound from a friend), but my first love is the Longbow.

I'm one of those oddballs who sold their bloody expensive compounds to go back to something from their youth. I found the technology wonderful, but I hated the constant tweaking, like a motorcycle that is always needing a bolt tightened or replaced after every cruise.
Quinn Comet XL (extra-long riser) 64" target recurve, snakeskin-camouflaged by original owner.

The limb bolts have been replaced with weighted turn-knobs painted to match the new finish, wool puffballs to silence the string, Sims SRS stabilizer and limbsavers, with bow-quiver and SRF sight on order.

I put Recurve as it's what I mostly use. I do however has an ELB and in the pipeline is an AFB and Hun. Although I'll only ever use the Recurve for target archery. Field is just for fun.
