The Handicaping league will be used to obtain handicaps, those not handicapped at the start of the next season will remain in a 'Handicaping League' untill a handicap is obtained from your last 3 scores submitted. There are no time restrictions in the Handicaping League as soon as you have a handicap you will be placed in the league proper.
Archers Rest Field League Rules
1) You must always shoot with the pointy end forward.
2) The league is open to all archers no matter what you shoot, your level of skill or indeed where abouts in the world you live, due to our unique scoring system anyone from anywhere can enter, it doesn't matter which association you are affiliated to, all scoring rounds can be accomodated.
3) You must post that you are attending a shoot, that you are going to count in the league and where it is. This is done in the Field League forum.
4) Scores submitted to the league should be RAW scores as follows, your name, class, score and the winners score in your class.
5) After you have submitted three scores you will have a handicap value assigned to you. This is recalculated after every score you submit using your last 3 scores. Your handicap will be added to your score to a maximum of 99.9 each time you submit a score, if you win the shoot your score is 100.0
6) You must submit a score for 10 shoots per year, (maximum of three in one given month). The competition runs between January the 1st to December the 16th. During the periods of January-June & July-December you may only submit a maximum of seven scores for one six month period.
7) You may only submit 4 score's per year from your own clubs grounds. In the Handicapping League you may submit all 3 scores from your own grounds.
8) If you do not complete the required amount of shoots you can still continue, but obviously your chances of winning are reduced and your chance of being relegated increase. You will not be allowed to submit more than the required scores in either season to make up for any missed shoots.
9) Leagues are split into 10 archers per league regardless of bow style, when moving on from the 'Handicapping League' you will be placed at the bottom of the league. At the end of each season the bottom 3 from League 1 will be relegated to League 2 and the top 3 from League 2 will be promoted to League 1, League 2,3,4 and so on will be formed when necessary.
10) Scoring is as follows - each score submitted will be converted into a percentage of the winners score for that round, your handicap will be revised after every score you submit. Your scores will be added together to give a final score (max 1000)
11) If you fail to complete any shoots in a year then you will lose your place in the league, your handicap will be kept so you can re join the league without the need of going through the handicapping league.
12) As this is mainly for fun you may switch styles and remain in the league with your current score and handicap, you may only do this once in a season though.
