Hello claydoe,
as you have just started out (3 months ish) on the AFB and doing extremely well with it , I feel it is too soon to change style.
But should you still desire the DARKSIDE i think a bowtech constitution would go down a treat.
hahaha

Hi Claydoe
You say you are 14 the trouble with shooting compound is that you have to have one to fit you
At 14 you grow so fast that you will be needing a bigger bow probably before you have even got used to your first one
If you have only just started archery too it may not be the best move for you at the moment
There is nothing wrong with wanting to try a compound bow, if you can borrow one that suits you to have a go with thats fine, but to buy one at this time, while your growing so fast you may be dissapointed
I would say stick with your AFB and see how you get on for a while it will also help your technique for when you do move to a compound

If I was you Claydoe, I would listen to Dawn, much as you would really like to try it out I think that her words of advice are the best you could listen to. But and I say But if you must make sure you get a bow that has a good amount of draw length adjustment on the cam, those that do have adjustment normally manage about 2 to 3 inches in draw length adjustment, that is most important for you especially as you will more than like grow during the time you have the bow. The other consideration is the arrows that will need replacing every time you grow
All in all continuing with yoiu AFB and maybe borrowing a compound when you get the chance to "have a go" is a much cheaper and easier route to take. What ever you do make sure you enjoy it though, and just because somebody else does it doesn't make it good you know

As is said above, at your age you are growing too fast to really get the most from compond shooting, and as a result will likely develop some very bad habits trying to fit yourself to the bow.
However, if you really must go compound there are some bows out there that do not have a let off, these can be used over very large draw length ranges, but despite looking like a compound, they shoot not too different to a recurve.
Genisis Make one for about £125 with a draw weight of 10-20lbs (don't be decieved 20lbs would be like shooting a 35lb recurve) and a draw length 15"-30" without adjustment.
As I said though I would stick with the recurve until you have largely stopped growing

I have wanted to shoot compound for about 3 years now but have only just started shooting one because I was told to wait until I had developed my technique with a recurve and (almost) finished growing.
I think this worked well for me as I am now loving archery more than ever.
I want to do nothing but shoot my Vipertec.
Hope you find it the same.

Good advice people.
Hang on in there Clay, who knows you could be a potential AFB champ.
