What is it called ??

A friend asked me a question tonight , bowling has lanes, shooting has a range,
in archery we practice at the butts, but what is the course called in field archery. and target archery:?:
Steve B

I have always called them plain and simple , field Range or Target range..... works for me
Eaglearcher

I have always called Target a Range and Field a course.

Same as Eaglearcher, Target Range and Field a Course.

......but aren't you Range Officer at your field club Eaglearcher
Eaglearcher

Yeah.
Strange isnt it.
Course Officer doesnt have the same ring to it though, does it?

Glad to see that you enjoyed your day on our COURSE, yesterday.
The weather was kind to us and i hope you didnt take too much Bedfordshire mud home with you.
Selwoc

Thanks for a good shoot once again. Nice sunny day and the rain held off till I had put my kit in the car.

Congratulations to Ricky for his national record.
Eaglearcher

Thanks.
It was perfect weather for shooting.
Bela also got a new record. There were four new national records shot in all.

Whats it called ?

Don't ask me.... I'm still working out which end of that recurve bat thing to hold...... but course sounds about right. ( Odd calling it course when Archers are some of the nicest people I have ever met)

........ I'm starting to ramble now... must be the diesel fumes....
Dawn

Can only comment on field although I have heard the term 'target range' used

I have always known it as a field course, and the individual targets known as shots.
kirk

The general consensus seems to be field COURSE, but i call it heaven
Steve B

Kirk, feeling in heaven is the result of being on the field course mate
