Thanks for the warm welcome folks.
Been a target archer for a while now. Bought a monglo bow last year and from that day my take down recurve stayed in its box (it's been sold now!). To be honest standing on the line shooting at the same target, i find a bit boring. Shooting on a field course is heaps more fun.
Just about to pick up my first longbow from CarolArchery.com. Can't wait.
I find it so much more rewarding (when I hit the target!) shooting a bent stick barebow than the olympic recurve with all the tackle
My wife is just getting her first bow and we are looking forward to Sundays out (when babysitters allow) in the woods!

Another new longbowerGood to see another new longbower though it sounds like you have a lot more Archery under your belt then I.
Field course sounds fun, when I had my compound my sun & I would shoot bear logs (NOT Bears! bear logs are rotted stumps & logs mostly pulp inside, bears move them around & bust them up to eat the bugs in them). We did in or lost a lot of arrows, but it was lots of fun trying to guess how far & then you get to walk off the yards after.
