The AR Web Sitesegolden has commented
| Quote: | | The forum seems to get a bunch of traffic, but I don't see much here. Wondering if a big banner or something might get some people on the site, as that one itty-bitty thing up in the corner might not be enough to gain attention. I sat on the forum a month before finding this place, and I had to be directed to it. Gotta talk it up at least. |
He is making a comment about the web site, in regards to a poll over there on the content.
Segolden the web site was only put up as a secondary source to provide info easily. As you would know forums often don't let you have all the things you want. The web site allowed us to do that in many forms , ie: members gallery, photo album of a lot of stuff from the forum so you don't need search through the posts for them.
I like your comment but the forum is Liams and as such he calls the shots, very fairly I might add, he has been great he has given me many controls on here not even knowing who I am. What am I saying? The web site is a repository of the info here, I am not sure that Liam can advertise it very much here due to the constraints of the BB, not sure that he should either but I am just putting this up to let you all know that the web site exsists and what is primarily designed and put up for.

Well put Steve B, the website is an addition to the forums and as Steve says its not realy a website in its own right, or thats how it was set up, but Steve has done an excellent job on the site and although content would need building up, the site I feel could stand on its own two feet, but do we really want that?
I like the feel of our own private little web site where we can get to know a little more about each other by means of the AR interviews and the AR members section not to mention the bloggs we have recently started.
So summarising this I suppose with a wee bit more work yes the website could be a great stand alone website, but I'd rather we kept it to ourselves .
The website is mentioned every month in the newsletter and there are a few links to it around the forums so eventually all members will find it, just a shame you didnt stumble accross it sooner segolden.

I stand chastened, wasn't trying to critique, just never had run into a concept like that. Must be culture shock or something.

It wasnt taken as critisism, well not on my part anyways, it was a valid point raised.

Certainly I was not critisising either segolden, my attempt was to explain how and why the web site works and what it does for the forum
Please don't stop with either the questions or the feature requests as both the forum and the website are only what they are because the inhabitants of them want it that way ....well I think thats the case

Don't mind me, I'm neither put off nor put out. I might suggest one new thing, however: A smiley face giving himself a royal boot in the tush.
