samick sprit II hunter

Hi
Has anyone any experence of the samick sprit II hunter bow.
Have shot target for 6 months and want to try field.
This would be my first bow, 35lb @ 28" was what I was looking at.
What do we think? Not a lot of quids to play with i'm afraid.
Liam

I have no experience of said bow, but I would ask have you tried a few different bows?

Always best to try as many as you can before you buy one, and have a look round the second hand market if money is tight, there's always a bargain out there if you look hard enough

Samick Sprit hunter II

Hi
I have seen this bow 2nd hand for £60, pehaps not the best reason in the world to be thinking of this bow but....
I have only shot club recurves before, cheap ones. I want to move clubs and shot field. trying to get info is liking trying to get blood out of a stone at the club I'm at. I wont say which one (target) not a friendly bunch. So my experence is lacking. I didn't enjoy saying that about the club by the way.
Liam

Well for £60 it could well be worth it, if you settle in with it flog and get your money back

If your struggling to find a field club pop over to the NFAS website and check out the clubs section, there's plenty there.

There's one only 15 minutes drive and I have made contact so now its time to buy some gear. This bow is £110 new on the quicks website.

The bow is popular that's all I know. I've seen a fair few of them on various field shoots, shot with sights in freestyle and without in barebow and HT.

For a beginners bow, you can't really go wrong, but I'd take an experienced archer with you, to check the bow out before buying.

Hi hex ed hour all good advice on here

I too have seen these bows around, I think they are a good stater bow and £60 sounds a good price, you just need to be sure that its OK, no splits or nasty chips anywhere and that the limbs are not twisted.

As already said ask someone who can check it for you before you buy

You say you have found an NFAS club, maybe if you go along someone there will be able to check it for you no harm in asking

Good luck with it all and let us know how you get on won't you

Cheers for all your kind words of encouragement, let you know how I get on.

Looking forward to hearing how this pans out, hex ed hour the advice above is all great and should help you make your decision. Good luck mate and enjoy your field shooting, it is a wonderful sport our archery and so much fun as well.

I personnally would go down to your new club first and ask one of them for advice and they will probabley have bows you can try also.
