I have been considering getting myself some form of horsebow for some time now and from what ive read about saluki bows this afternoon I'm quite impressed, I'll be watching this thread with interest to see what comments are made. |

 Don't have one myself, but have handled several at SCA shoots. Absolute top quality, smooth as silk, amazingly fast, very pricey, always back-ordered due to demand, worth the wait. Since I have neither patience nor money, I have to pass, unfortunately.

I got the Turk a couple of years ago, it only weighs 15oz in the hand very fast but a little twitchy to shoot as a tourney bow, the Ibex is heavier mass and longer limbs also very fast but much better suited to touney shooting (H/T).
Out of all the Bows I've shot\owned these Salukis put the biggest smile on my face, very sexy lines and the craftmanship and build quality is 1st class. Someone posted their Saluki horsebow on Leatherwall and it was inlayed with mother or pearl leaf design, must be the most beatifull bow i've ever seen. |

One of the things most people haven't generally known about Novotny and Horvath at Saluki is that they make some extraordinary historical reproductions, such as the Tatar-Crimean bow here:
If you've got the coin, they can produce a real crowd-pleaser. |

Well shot the Saluki Ibex at Oakleaf this weekend, had a number of comments on the practice range about it's speed (hard to appreciate when ur behind the string). I won the H/T and matched the top Barebow score (638 on 42 animal targets) so looks like its a contender in H/T division even though it's based on a primitive design, I do think a CNC carbon limb recurve is easier to shoot but I never took the easy option in Archery.
Win or lose the Saluki does put a big smile on my face, a real thing of beauty and well worth the wait and price

Slick things, aren't they? I wonder if these are the reason KG came out with the new Osprey? Primitive recurves are getting popular, it seems.
