Pics dont show up for me ??

Hi

None of the pics on the site show up for me.
This includes both pics posted by other users and also pics representing cions and buttons (I have to hover about with my mouse pointer to find the new-post button and such).
I have popups enabled on my browser (IE 6) so It cant be that.

ANy ideas please on what may be causing this?

This may sound silly, but a number of the things on the board are Javascript driven. You do have that turned on don't you ?

I suppose one way to check would be to visit another forum and see if the same results show

Yup Java is on.

Oddly if I use Firefox instead of IE6 everything is fine.

Must admit I use Firefox and have never had a problem... but I figured I shouldn't be to rude and suggest you get rid of IE

But You know what I mean... at least you can view things and not be mucked about to much

I use at IE6 at work (its all were allowed - I did change it to IE7, but it was promptly removed) with no problems, strange one this

Yes its very Odd

To add to the confusion, Im using IE6 at work and they are not showing up here either. How strange.
For me personally its not a problem as Ill always use firefox to come here.
If I can help sort it for the forum though (If indeed its a forum issue and not a problem with my home and work pc setups) Ill certainly try anything that anyone can suggest to see if it works and resolves the issue.

A few questions that might help us find the source of the issue:

What URL are you using to access Archers Rest (i.e. what's in your browsers address bar)?
Does this happen with any others sites (especially forums) or is it only archers rest?
Are you running a firewall, either locally or on a proxy server you connect through?
In your IE6 "Internet Options", what is the security level set to (on the Security tab)?
Again in "Internet Options", on the Advanced tab find the Multimedia section, which items aren't ticked?

The first thing always suggested when something strange like this happens is to clear your browser cache and cookies, so it may be worth trying this if you haven't already.

Odd development. After last posting at work, the work PC then started showing the icons (such as new post etc) but still not showing pictures)
Re your questions, Okay here goes

2. Nope not any other sites and I am a member of a LOT of forums due to loads of hobbies lol.
3. Yes firewall is on but when I turn it off the situation doesnt change even though its no longer running.
4. My security level is a custom one but as far as I remember I based it on the "medium" template. Ive just been through it and most things are on either enable or prompt so nothing is disabled that should be preventing anything as far as I know.
5. (Dont display online media content in the media bar) and also (show image download placeholders)

Have done a cache clear recently I think but will try one in a sec and then edit this post to say how it goes.
