New AR logoI've split this from the merchendise poll as it was going in a different direction - Liam
Hi guys
You may want to consider a more simple design if you want to go down the merchandising route as something as complex as the cartoon above may prove very expensive to reproduce.
Tell me to go away if you want to and I won't be offended but I was giving it some thought for you over lunch today:
You may want to consider something simpler in approach. The fact that the tree is the resting spot is really nice and I don't think you need the robin hood character as the name already implies it's for archers.
Have a think on it

Looks good that, ive saved those pics for futue reference Jase, so far so good with pricing most things up with the current logo, although the only thing we have produced so far is a few of the iron on logo's.
What I'm trying to say is cost hasnt been an issue so far with the current logo. I like the simplicity of those graphics, infact I'm wondering now wether to have a think about the 'corprate' logo, maybe a vote or even competition...........mmmmnnn some food for thought there

Infact could you do us a favour Jase and do the top one again but in lowercase (same font) so it reads archers-rest.com and could you do the one on the shirt the same size as the others

Liam, the simplisity of what Jase has done is wonderful. I really like the effect and I agree with his comments that we don't really need the character of Robin Hood.
Mind you another part of me says we started with him so he should never go... but corporate, simplisity and good looking is the new proposal. Well doner Jase and thought out very well to I think

The more I think about this and look at it the more I like the new idea's.
I agree though Robin should have a place at Archers Rest forever more, he was here at the start, if we do go for the new image we will find a spot for Robin and he can always remain on the website

Thinking about it Jase, if you dont mind, I would still like to see the top one as requested above, could the t-shirt logo be done without the .com on the end and in smaller font size below add the url (www.archers-rest.com)

Damn Jase, isnt he a picky bugger........
|
Liam

I am but its gotta be spot on, i really do like it, im 90% sold on the idea now, even though Robin does keep staring at me everytime I look at the screen
|
Liam
|
95% now
I'm running away with the idea here Jase, I presume its ok to use these designs may even play with the header onthe forums over the weekend

Jase, sorry to appear picky but can you just confirm that the image & typeface you posted is copyright free?

Hi guys
I the creative director of a graphic design agency in Liverpool. The logo is copyright free (well, officially at the moment it rests with me
I will tweak things for you although that particular font is a caps only so if you wanted lower case then I would have to change the typeface.
I can supply the final as a Vector file which means people could enlarge it as big as they wanted without loss of quality. I can also sort out any photoshop/graphics needs you may want
The design is in work at the moment as I was thinking about it for you over lunch. I'll have a re-look on Monday and post the changes.
If you wanted to keep Robin how about using him in the newsletter for maybe an "Ask Robin" help section?
I rebrand companies for a living so couldn't help myself sorry!

Nope no need to say sorry ... you have done a great job Jase, and it looks mighty good....

Liam

Jase I am overwelmed that you want to help and extremely greatfull of your assistance, Im thinking Robin will stay in the form of a 'pub sign' for the archers arms when I get my self another humhum copy of paintshop, allthough my photoshop skills leave a little to be desired so feel free to take over and the ask Robin is not a bad idea also.
With regards the font, the lower case that the com is in looks good as do your suggestions, youve done a fine job so far so I'll trust your judgement, as you've guessed by now I am 100% sold on the idea and I'm sure we can run to a nice ad for the longbow shop over the website as a thank you

Hi all
OK your signs are out of proportion with each other (sign surround is more square than the board is) so in order for it to fit the surround needs to be scaled horizontally so will look like this:
Will take a look at the logo for you now...

Thats the one Jase, I like it , any chance of having it in a larger size, so I can get things rolling (approx 1200x300)
