D-shaped composite bows were popular among the elite troops and royalty, though there's some speculation as to whether these were imported as manufactured or the materials were shipped in to bowyers in Egypt. Semite tribes were already using composite recurves and were well known to merchant-princes along the Nile, and Assyrian-style composites were found in Tut's tomb. Bow-making materials were sparse in Egypt, however, so whatever they could afford to buy or import was probably the rule. There was no mention in the article about any bows being found, but they rarely list everything they find, and tomb-robbers wouldn't have been interested in bow cases, so I'm waiting to see if something comes to light.

Thanks Segolden. I figured since arrows were found there would have been some mention of a bow. As you said, this information may still come to light.

The Egyptian King was often depicted shooting arrows from his charriot and killing numerous (laughs) foreign warriors in battle. Classic examples of this include the Battle of Kadesh reliefs from Abu Simbel as put there by Rammesses II in a major piece of propaganda. Egyptian nobles also did a fair bit of hunting and one theory behind why Tutankhamun died as young as he did was after sustaining a injury to his knee whilst hunting. Apparently, he was a keen hunter.
