Looking for beginners classes

Hi All

Myself and a couple of friend have just started the fine sport of archery and the biggest bit of advice that I have seen passed around is to get on a beginners course.

So what I'm after is some info about these and if anyone knows of any in my area.

The area I'm looking at is near Barnsley or Wakefield/Pontefract, (bit of a pain having mates that don't live near you and being the car driver ) I've looked round on the net and know there are clubs round here but have been unable to find good contact details.

The style of shooting that we are looking to get into is field archery as this seems more our kind of thing.

One problem would seem to be time, I currently work late on Tuesday evenings so that’s off and one of my other friends works nights so is only available at weekends (but since I would have to be borrowing my dad’s car to take him, the weekend stuff is not too high on the priority list - the perils of own a two seater sports car )

Hope you can help.

The closest NFAS club I can find is Arrowflight they are in Penistone (between Barnsley and Sheffield) unfortunatly they have no contact details on the NFAS website and I cant find put my hand on an NFAS mag, I'm sure someone will be along soon who can find the NFAS mag and give you a contact number

Thanks,

I know there is one in the dearne vallay towards rotherham as well, but like Arrow flight, I can't find any contact details.

Hi Gitface the contact for Arrowflight is Mr. geoff Rhodes, 0114 2884707

There is also the 100 yards FAC at Scunthorpe, dont know if thats too far away from you but contact is Brian 07709 317248, or Steve 07971 223625
They have a shoot on this weekend so you probably wont get an answer until next week.

Other than that there are clubs at Otley and Ilkey I can get the contacts if your interested.

I am only looking at NFAS clubs that have their information online, I will check to see if there are any others.

There also may be other society clubs maybe someone who knows will post for you.
