Just finished these...

Completed last night, just waiting for another 2 coats of wax. First arrows I've made in [cough] years

Those look fantastic!

May they fly straight and true

I'm hoping to find out at the weekend
Gumbob

What kind of bow will you be shooting them from if you don't mind me askin?

Cheers....Gumbob
CaptainBeaky

Don't mind at all!

I will be using my ancient Marksman TS4 recurve (early 70's vintage), unless the Portland has returned from KG, in which case I will be using that. The TS4 seems quite comfortable drawing to 31-32", and from memory the Portland is similarly relaxed about draw length, hence the 32" shafts. Both rate about 38@28, so drawing to 32 should give me, what, about 44-46lb? Anybody have any idea what the lb/inch is likely to be at this point?
Not that it will affect the choice of equipment - at the moment I am going with what I've got as funds don't permit anything else.

I've gone to woodies as I discovered last week that my X7s don't like glancing off trees and I am also intending to shoot in the HT class.
Dawn

nice looking arrows captain

I have always understood you add about 2lb for every inch you draw over the stated drew lenth/ weight

Where are you shooting on Sunday
Steve B

Very nicely done Captain when you have finished them may we have another picture
CaptainBeaky

Thank you for your kind words!

Looks like 44-46lb, then - doesn't actually feel that heavy, but I am carrying a lot more beef than when I last shot...

Down to Bridge Woods on (probably) Saturday pm, assuming I can work it around what the kids are doing. Sunday is screwed due to number one son having a St Georges Day parade with Cubs, then I have rehearsals later in the afternoon, until late.

Will do another pic when I have got all the coats of wax on, although they probably won't look much different. (I'll try to do a better photo, tho' )

Wouldn't mind seeing pics of #1 son in the parade, either. Been a while since mine were that young, like to see 'em in the gallery. Sorry, there I go again.
CaptainBeaky

Completed and shot!

(OK, ignore the first one that was off to the left )

Managed to bring 11 of them home again, too! (One is still AWOL behind target 14 after ricocheting off a twig...) Still, it might turn up

The Blue Whistlers first strike! Arrows are like that initial dent in your car, ya gotta lose one for the rest to work right.
PILCH

Elow, wish I could cut my flech that neat! Mine look like I took an axe to them....
Liam

Practice make perfect Pilch, and from what I gather youve got a fair few feathers there
