January Field League scores

Please put your shoots (in advance) and scores in here please.

Same as before, only change is that you can only enter 1 score per calender month now, to a maximum of 8 scores per year.
Ratfighter

Ruthy, Lord Matt and I will be crossing the channel to shoot in the Netherlands January 12th (Artemis archery).
I will see if the Lord wishes to take part but as we won't be shooting anywhere else in January, we'll register this shoot.

(A nice easy one to start the year ... not!)

It's a shame that Cheiron can't make it, but we'll see if we can get some more to sign up to the forum.

Ratty, you and Ruthy shoot tougher shoots than a lot of us and fair play to you for submitting your scores

Hopefully the one a month rule may help to even things out a touch, I am looking at other ways of leveling it out if possible.

I personally would rather put a score in that reflects my overall ability throughout the year - i like challenges and I can't see the point in submitting scores that are 'gimmies' it just would seem to be a fair game!

The thing is we don't shoot 'gimmies' anyway so it's the toughies for us all the way!!
Berniethebolt

Ok this is going to sound realllllllllllllly stupit but what do you mean by a
"gimmie"  is this just a slang word for someting else or a archery term I haven't heard yet lol

Bernie

P.S no smart remarks from MJ, Wacky or Bushy lol
Steve B

You didn't include me in the smart comment category Bernie ...so guess what ......

A "Gimmie" is something is so easy that is is a "give me"  i hope I have explained that right

Hmmmm, I can't think of anything smart to write Bernie so I shall take a rain check

Bernie

Hi Bernie
Steve is right it does mean 'give me' and what i mean by that is attending shoots that i could easily win without even trying - maybe because i would be the only one in my class or that my direct competition aren't there so it would be an easy win!
Being the only one in my class happens to me quite often so i feel i should only pick shoots where i have healthy competition and there the ones that are usually abroad, International and national tournaments

I like the idea of using it as archery slang though - nice one!
corbarwolf

corbarwolf

Thank you very much, but not as good as i would like, i know i could do better, or i'm just fooling myself
It was good to get out for the start of the year, and the weather was fantastic considering the forecast.
Pookah was shooting back on the white/blue/blue pegs as she moves in March, these things called birthdays you know.
Going to Westcott this Sunday, now that sounds interesting/clever and more importantly warm and no sign of mud
Ratfighter

Ratty's rather poor show over the weekend netted
612, winners score 666

Ruthy's rather poor show over the weekend netted
560 the winners score 575

Lord Matts dismal display netted
573 the winner scored 666

We all promise to do better in February
Steve B

Ratty501 is really fair on you guys (impied dgender Ruthy   ) seeing as quite a few targets were "pig in a poke" ? I would think you all deserve a better go

As it's only for handicapping I'll take 500 as the winners score, we do need the winners scores though in future as its how we work your's out

Hi Liam,
I was at the Castle Shoot and took 542 Gents AFB and know the winners score was 638
This should help Richard D to get on the league

Cheers
Mark
Liam

Thanks Mark
richard d

Have found the Castle scores and gents afb winning score was 660
corbarwolf

I have just seen that as well Richard, I must have only caught Volkers score on the day.
They shot well, high scores to start the season off.

Did you enjoy the shoot Richard? What was your memorable shot of the day?
Mine must be the fish thro the straw circle in the outbuilding.

Mark
Liam

So was the winners score confirmed as 660 and not 638?
richard d

Yes winners score 660 (results on nfas site)
And Corbarwolf this was mine and Toms first shoot and had a brilliant day the fish was ingenious and tricky. A very well set out course although at one shot an arrow came from somewhere and hit a tree behind us.Some pretty high scores for a two arrow shoot. Looking forward to hanson tomorrow.
corbarwolf

Yes Liam 660 was the winner.

Richard glad you enjoyed it.
For a first shoot and with a young child, it is a terrible feeling when an arrow comes that close.
I am forever vigilant now, it too happened to us on our first shoot @ Paget 2007.
I always stand between the concern and my daughter now, protective parent syndrome, i guess.

Any how i shall try to find you tomorrow as we are at Hansons as well.
Good shooting.

Mark
