Indoor-3D in the NetherlandsFor all of you who allready shot the Indoor-3D at Westcott archers, or are just interested in doing something different.
In the weekend of 26 & 27 April, we (Bowhuntingteam Unicorn) organize an Indoor-3D shoot, near Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
We have 2 big halls with a total of 36 Targets (with a lot of Rineharts), loads of trees, big mountain with 2,5 mtr high waterfall, a notorious apple-tree etc. etc. etc.
We have 288 places availlable.......but if you're interested, then don't wait too long with contacting us. We have been booked full the last years, with 40+ archers on the waitinglist.
So if you are interested in shooting Indoor-3d and combine this with a trip to the Netherlands or you want more info, then send an e-mail to : info@bowhuntingteam-unicorn.nl

Hi NoSights
Is it the usual rules of shooting a different style of bow each day - or have i got that wrong
I'll check our calender and also pass the word around

Hi Ruthy
That was quick
We have 7 (combined IFAA) shooting-styles:
Compound Unlimited
Compound Limited
Compound Unsighted
Freestyle Recurve
Barebow Recurve
Bowhunter Recurve
Longbow
3 classes:
Male
Female
Junior
(sorry no cubs, as we are shooting from one line and shooting-distances go up almost 40 mtrs)
Scoring-zones are:
10 points (biggest Inner-Kill)
8 poinst (Vitals)
5 points (wound)
Timed targets
As we run this shoot in a strict timetable, archers wil get 2 minutes to shoot a total of 4 arrows per round. Two archers per lane (they take turns in shooting) have to shoot 2 arrows at 2 different targets in (the above mentioned) 2 minutes. We have nine 9 lanes per hall, which means that shooting one round will take an hour.
After shooting the first round, the next group comes in for their round, which gives you an hour time to travel to the other hall (5 miles), to shoot the next round.
We allways put foreign archers in the saturday-afternoon and the sunday-morning group. So travelling to the shoot and back home is bit easier.
Allthough the Indoor-3D is shot over a weekend, it's only a one-day shoot. So if you want to compete 2 days, you have to enter in 2 different styles......., so it's possible to win first prize in 2 different styles

p.s. If you still have no idea what to think about our Indoor-3D, then ask Tony Weston of The Archery Company.....he has been a regular guest for the past years....so he'll be able to tell you more !!

Hi NoSights.
It sounds like a lot of fun, unfortunately im unable to get there. Would it be possible for you to post some pictures of the shoot for those of us who cant come. The mountain and waterfall sounds facinating.

Seconded! I loved the look of Westcott's shoot in the NFAS newsletter, and am keen to give this a go. Not able to make it to the Netherlands... not without some serious string pulling anyway, it's my wife's birthday!!! But I'd love to see the pics... I'm also intrigued by this notorious apple tree!

Will ask my clubmembers for pictures and post them here.
The notorius apple-tree........in one hall we have a tree with 4 Rinehart apples in it.
Normal size apples that you have to shoot out of the tree at about 33 yards.
A very fun target, but a bit trouble to make it arrow-friendly.......if you miss the apples it is not a problem, because we have a stramit wall behind it.........but if you hit the apple it is unpredictable where the apple and arrow will fly........first year quite some arrows broke.....but noone seemed to bother, because it's a real challenge to even hit an apple.
Last year we tried it with a net behind the tree, where the apple an arrow could fall in.
We shot it about 25 times ourselves and it worked perfectly........so I bragged about how good we made it and nothing could happen anymore..........untill Lucy Holderness came to me with a broken arrow.........and bullied me with it for the rest of the weekend
so...to make a long story short.........it is/was notorious for it's arrow eating apples
will do my best for some pictures !!

Sounds great fun! Maybe we could make it an AR weekend out some time?!? Not this time for me as stated, but it sounds like a plan for some point!

I can vouch for how interesting NoSights shoots are. We have been to the outdoor shoot at Bowhuntingteam Unicorn for the past two years and it is the first shoot I make sure I have leave granted for. 2days great shooting, cold beer and live entertainment and a chance to get our German friends more drunk than us. Unmissable!
If anyone can make it to the indoor shoot I would recommend they try, it's not a bad drive from the UK, no worse than getting to some shoots in the extremes of the UK to be honest and you will be blown away with the whole experience.
By the way, welcome to the forum Arthur, I hope you get the chance to share some of your knowledge with us. And your picture is in the NFAS newsletter this month (so is mine but it is less obvious)
