Fita field champs

Well I had an interesting weekend here in Estonia. On Friday I took part in a medieval demo shoot in Tallinn old historical town, it was a good Demo of shooting with some tricks shots at the end, we had two days to think up some trick shots and practice them, the crowds loved it and us shooters had a great time.

Sat\Sun I took part in the Estonian Fita Field champs the weather was horrible on Sat with wind and rain, Sunday was just windy and turned out really nice towards the end of the tourney, some really nice up\down shots on the course. i found it was difficult to judge how well I shot as I've never shot fita Field and comparing to IFAA I felt I should have be shooting better as the faces seemed bigger and the distances shorter but with the 6,5,4,3,2,1 scoring you can get very few points if you lose focus and start hitting in the 3,2,1 scoring zone.

Day 1 shooting AFB with woodies on the unmarked I scored 256 and on day two the marked round I scored 229, it was good enough to beat my main rival Ular Teppo who won the IFAA worlds in april and was only 3 points under the winning Barebow score, so maybe i didn't do as bad as I thought.

Yesterday I attended a press conference for the IFAA European Bowhunter champs, the Estonians will have good coverage of this event and the press was given good infomation about the shooting styles and competition then taken to a 3D course to try shooting for themselves, introduced and taken around by some of the top Estonian shooters. Thought the whole thing was done very well, the press will be able to give some very informed coverage during the competition.

Wow Steve looks like that was a great event

Good to hear you are enjoying yourself too

Do you know if there will be any online updates during the  IFAA European Bowhunter champs

Good luck for that too

Not just online updates but real-time electronic scoring. I'm shooting pretty good, if everything holds together it should be a nice result for me.
