FinallyI finally got to try out a different style of bow today. It was a light weight reinactment longbow and seemingly I was grinning like a cheshire cat the whole time I was shooting it. I think my prev assesment of recurve for ever may have been a tad premature.  I even managed to hit the spot a couple of times (with no sights who'd have thought that was possible).

Never be afraid of trying something new, I say, as long as it won't bite back.  Some things can feel very natural to hand.

Reenactment bow /longbowHi blackcat  If you hit the spot acouple of times on your first round with this bow you did well .your instinct is obviously there, a little practice and you will soon see an improvement. Its a great feeling when you zap a target with this gear because you know you have no aids ie sights and the like. Well done I reckon ya got the bug. SBB

No SBB I didn't get the bug, the bug got me big style. Buying a longbow at the end of the month now as well as a recurve and arrows for both ( yeah!! ) Thank goodness for bonuses that all I can say. Now who knows where I can get a nice cheap longbow? Cant wait to get out in the tree's again and shoot so natural, I don't think you can beat that feeling.

Cheap bows etcIf you contact the field archery clubs in your part of the country asking if anybody has a bow of the right size type and poundage that you require, you may be lucky and get a good second hand one.People are changing their gear all the time ,for all sorts of reasons .Good luck with your search.
