Field League (The Test)

Ok this thread is for the testing of the field League scoring system that we have been discussing in another thread.

If people interested in submitting scores could let me know here so I can add your names to the spreadsheet.

So Far

AFB (Me)
Raven (My Missus)
Haywain

I'll have a go, but you'll have to wait till the 3D's for a score from me. My next shoot is at my home club, so under the rules that won't count.
Metalhips

Ok AFB Add my name Ill give it a go will my 630 at last league count @ Foxhill 2X20
Liam

Put me down AFB (not sure when I'll shoot though) do you think we could be allowed to submit one score from our home ground, seems fair to me
Dawn

Yep I will join in too

My next shoot is the 3D's
Haywain

Can I just ask why home ground shoots are not allowed? Our own competition shoots are re-laid each time and always follow a different path or use a section of woods newly opened. Competition courses are not permanent and never follow any recognised practice route. In addition, members can't compete if they help with the course laying.
AFB

Metalhips I would need the winners (highest score) as well for it to count mate.
AFB

One score sounds fine Liam. In the testing of the system etc etc. we could have more than one , more scores the better
AFB

So for the test so far we have:

AFB
Raven
Haywain
Liam
Metalhips
Dawn
Metalhips

AFB Don't think there was a winner as it was the Lancs League @ Foxhill 2X20 BG scoring 24s max 960. would have to see the scores or ask Derek / Pat who would verify Metal Arrows high scores ?Just a thought !!
Other league scores Warcock 738 Jan14th and 646 Gawthorpe 22nd April
Our Club prevent members shooting on our courses as we have knowledge of course and also always full up recently
AFB

You have done better than me in the leagues I have had a shocker
Bushy

Put my name in for it
AFB

Consider it done
Liam

I have quickly set up a very page for the league table/s Here it is

Now we have the ability to have webpages directly linked to the forums things like this are easily achievable and look more uniformed, obviously more work needs to go into the AR League pages but its a start.

As you can see this new feature from MYFF opens all sorts of possibilities for Archers Rest
AFB

Looks good Liam. Raven is Hunting Tackle and I am like the name suggsts AFB
Dawn

Wow thats all very impresive

AFB

Probabley the only time I will be number 1 though
Liam

Dawn wrote:

Kind words Dawn, but is very crude at them moment, I intend to make this and other pages much better, when time allows
Liam

AFB wrote:

AFB

Any excuse to 'tweek'
Bushy

AFB wrote:

Hense the name then
AFB

Yeah slight clue there Bushy
AFB

Ok here is the first two scores I can submitt for the league.

Raven: Winning score = 572 Her score = 342
AFB : Winning score = 652 My score = 446

This gives the following scores for the league

Raven = 597.9
AFB = 684
Liam

League table updated

http://archersrest.myfreeforum.org/viewpage.php?myff_id=22
AFB

Rune wa actually placed at Gawthorpe also
Ratfighter

Just a quick one (wayhey as things are a bit busy at work at the mo)
I took a 768 this weekend at Castle. The winning score was 768 so that's a 100%
for me or if you are working from the max score, which was 864 that would be 88.9%

Ruthy took 764 and won her class, so does she get the 100% as well? 88.42%

Anyway, enjoy and roll on the 3D's
Liam

Put your scores in and guess who's tied at the top
AFB

Ah well there goes the neighbourhood
Haywain

I think I must have missed a post or two while reading....what scores do you need for the table as well as my own? Not that I'm proud of what I shot on Sunday........I shot 472 out of a max of 880. If you need the winning score for my class I should have it soon.
Liam

Thats it Haywain, we need to know the style you shoot, your score and the winners score in your class.
Liam

Could anyone who shot the 3 d's let us know your score and the winners score and we'll update the table
Ruthy

Hello

My saturday score was 708 and the winning score was 772
My sunday score was 728 and the winning score was also 728

Ratfighter will do his later as he's not sure of the 2nd day winning score
Liam

Ive added your 2 day score Ruthy, I'm guessing some people wont know the winners score for both days in their class.

I'm also assuming that the Total score is an average of all scores out of a thousand.

So if Ruthy had shot 3 comps with a total ave score of 978.5 would I be right in thinking her handicap would be 21.5

So would she then add 21.5 to her next 3 scores?

Are we keeping 1000 as the max score? i.e. you can only use your handicap to obtain a max of 1000

Here is the table
Dawn

OK Here is my score for the 3D champs

Mine 910 the winners score was 988 Ladies Barebow.

Now a question I am going to Albion on Sunday and shooting AFB is it possible to enter 2 styles if not I will just stick with barebow as thats what I mostly shoot
Liam

AFB will have the final say, but I'm sure for purposes of the test it would be allowed, if you shoot 2 styles regular could you enter twice I ask myself
AFB

Entering using two styles doesn't really pose a problem as we are using a percentage scoring system. Also this is just the test stage
Dawn

Ok I will enter under AFB as well and put my score in from Albion on Sunday

You can always delete it if it becomes a problem

Bushy

for the 3D's my score was 1078 and the winner was 1224 Gents barebow as with Dawn I am shooting Albion on Sunday but I will be shooting longbow ?????
Berniethebolt

My next shoot is National Animal round can my score from that go into the League tables???

Hi Bushy got to ask with such a great score How many targets did u shoot?, how many arrows for each target? and what are the points for a kill and a injury? (thank the Lord these are not real animals) lol

Bernie
Bushy

National 3d championships are a 2 day competition 36 targets on each day so it aint that great to be honest but it was a really enjoyable weekend with loads of really high scores.

basically the scores are different depending on which peg u shooting at the first arrow counts as a 24 or inner kill, 20 for kill and 16 for wound. 2nd arrow if required is 14 for a kill and 10 for a wound and the dreaded third arrow is 8 for a kill and 4 for a wound.
Berniethebolt

Still a great score I guess i'm still learning about the diff Competions
Well Done

Bernie xxxxxxxxx
Dawn

Bushy is quite right about the scoring for NFAS field shoot, but if your first arrow scores at all you don't shoot another.

Therefore the maximum score you can get on a target is 24 points
for an inner kill, but if you only wound with your first arrow you get 16 points and thats all.
No extra score for Inner kills if you hit them with your second or third arrow.

We shoot from pegs red, white and blue in that order, your first shot from the red is the most difficult shot, if you miss the white is usually closer and a little easier, miss again and the blue should get even easier.

Hope this gives you an idea of how we shoot

Berniethebolt

Thanks Dawn i think we have a shoot like that here The red peg is the furthest then over here its the blue then the white just goes to show how things are differant in the diff areas.
Have any of u ever done a hunting trail its where the 3d animals are hiden and you have to walk along a certian lenght of line looking for the animals your nor allowed to stop walking unless you spot the target and then you can shoot. if by the time you get the the end of the line and you having shoot you lose the target.
it's great fun

Bernie
Dawn

Dawn

I came first with 480 points

Berniethebolt

Well Done Dawn

Bernie
Dawn

Thank you Bernie

Sounds like you had a great day, dont feel bad about your score if you have only been shooting from the blue pegs to go back to the red peg and be only 35 points from the winner who has probably been shooting from the red a long time, you have done really well

Liam

Well done girls, scores updated
Liam

Just looking at when handicapping comes in, I'm thinking it would be much easier to implement if the scoring was out of 100 rather than 1000, as the score is based on a percentage of the winning archers score, that way una-vita's score would be 97.9 so imagine that was after 3 shoots her handicap would be 2.1, this would then be added to her next 3 scores (to a max of 100) say her score was then 98.1 after 6 shoots her next handicap would be 1.9, seems much easier to me anyway
Dawn

Fine by me

I am just enjoying joining in

I will leave you lot to do all the calculations

I will just go and have fun

Berniethebolt

*hands Laim a calculater* lol

BTW my next shoot next Sunday 17th

Bernie
Liam

Let us know how you go on Bernie. Please remember everyone, you need to let us know you are shooting before you go that way you cant duck out of submitting a poor score
Dawn

Just covering all angles Dawn and remember if you are going to cheat, your only cheating yourself (not aimed at anyone in particular)
AFB

Myself and Rune are shootng Olde Delph this Sunday
Liam

omg really bad today 165 and the winner got 290
fell down a hill as well had a very wet and dirty bum lol

Got a shoot on next Sunday Laim hope to stay on feet and get a better score lol

Bernie
segolden

Things happen, at least you're out there trying. We had a guy get stuck in a pipe-conduit tunnel that was part of an obstacle course between combat targets; his belt caught on a shard in the metal pipe, had to be cut out of the tunnel by firemen with a diamond-blade rotary saw.
Berniethebolt

Omg your kidding segolden I don't feel to bad now hope he wasn't hurt

Bernie
Dawn

Just got back from Avalon's briliant 2 day shoot

Thank you bernie

I slid down a bank yesterday too, didn't get hurt or damage my bow or arrows, got very a muddy leg on my jeans though but looking around at the end of the shoot a lot of others had muddy patches on their clothes too so guess I wasn't the only one

You keep on enjoyin it and dont let the score put you off your doing fine

Liam

Update on this - Hows about we run the league from next month, those handicapped by the end of this month will start in League 1 those not will start in the handicapping league, rules have been updated and can be seen here
Dawn

I am doing LEFA's shoot on Sunday I will put my scores in for the league

Liam

I have submitted my last 2 scores from club shoots for handicaping purposes, anyone who has their last 3 scores (+ the winners) for any shoots may submit them so they can gain a handicap for when the league starts proper next month
Berniethebolt

So if I have my scores and the winners for shoots I have done the last few months before I joined here I could sumitted them???

Bernie
Liam

You can, but you only need one more to get a handicap anyway so there's no real need if your planning on attending another shoot this month
Liam

A page has been added so you can see everyones scores that have been entered http://archersrest.myfreeforum.org/viewpage.php?myff_id=46
Liam

Going to wind this test down this week as the comp will start proper in July, we'll have a half season for 2007, to test it out good and proper

Dont worry if you haven't got a handicap yet you can still join in.
Berniethebolt

Well another rotten shoot scored 146 and the winner 231
Although shooting the 1st half of the course and 3 targets of the 2nd half before someone noticed I had my limbs on upside down now stupit could I get

*ok don't answer that* lol

Bernie

I was going to submit my score from Long Eaton Summer solstice but I didn't stay for the results

I dont like leaving before the results but we actually finished shooting at 7pm I had to get Nathan back, fed and home to his mum, he is up at 5.30am to do his paper round before school.

I think my score was 596 but dont know what the winners score was

I dont think I need to enter another though as I have my handicap now

My next open shoot will most likely be Duvelle 8th July hope to see Liam there too bout time he came out to a competition
