Drawing arm, elbow discomfort?
I'm wondering if this is an overuse thing from archery. I've only been shooting for about 3 months. In the area on the picture I have some muscular tightness and it sometimes feels as though there is a touch of cramp there. Is this a complaint that other have seen/experienced in archery.
Thanks

Should have said. The discomfort is where the red area is.

Its possible that Archery could be the cause - hence the reason why many of the coaches I've encountered insist on warm ups before shooting (and warm - downs after).
What I would say is don't do what i did and leave the issue for too long. I had a trapped nerve (as it turned out) in my elbow and "managed" for quite a while. All it ended up doing was to cause some pain all the way up my arm into my shoulder - and then I ended up having to have an operation.
I'm not saying that will ahppen to you - but I would certainly recommend that you see a Doctor, if the pain continues, sooner rather then later.
You have my best wishes

what kind of bow do you shoot? whats the draw weight? what kind of draw do you use (fingertips or deep hook)
The pain in the area you show is usually caused by fatigue related to hooking your fingers and holding the string on your fingertips. Its usually a burning sensation. A deep hook can sometimes aleviate this or a lower draw weight.
How often do you shoot? It could be that you just need to give it a rest for a while.

Hi chaps, thanks for the replies.
I think it is more likely my work computer. Just had a risk assessment and my desk is too high. I always knew it was. But the ocupational nurse seemed to know it all!! Now had the desk lowered by 1" my elbow seems ok now. had a week off work and shooting.
My bow is recurve 36lb on fingers, deep hook.
Thanks
