Daylight Savings TimeJust wondering.
Here in the States we will go on Daylight
Savings Time - midnight March 9th (two weeks early).
Also, here in the States we will continue this two weeks
longer before falling back an hour in the Fall.
My question is. Does everyone (all countries) do the Daylight
Savings Time thing

Here in the UK we have GMT (Greenwich Mean Time)
And BST (British Summer Time) which is day light saving time, we go forward one hour at 1am on Sunday the 30th March
The following link explains things

Which means, of course, we invented time

The software product I work on both has to accept timed and dated info from around the world and has to work around the world. So I have had to work a lot on time zones.
Here is a few facts I know
- Most, but not all countries around the world have some form of day light savings.
- daylight savings is not always an hour, some are half an hour, some 1.5 hours, some two
- The southern hemisphere has it's daylight saving in our winter (makes sence really)
- not all countries of the world, switch to their daylight savings at the same time.

We in Oz have daylight savings we take an hour of our clocks. we are currently using DST. We have it for approximately 5 months...( think I am right , not sure I just go with the flow, after all every day I wake up is a good day )

In GB I think the time change was introduced in the war to give farmers a factories extra day light.A few years ago they powers to be desided not to change the clocks but it ment kids went to school in the dark I think there was a increase in accidents involving kids going to to school so we went back to changing the clocks.

I can live with that.

Joe Says;
That was what my dad always told us kids. I hadn't realized or even thought
about going to school in the dark. Actually I never thought about going to
school... I always felt it was a waste of my time when I could be doing
something else... I don't know how in the world I ever got ed-u-cated...

Joe, under the Prussian-style modern school system we have, you don't learn because of it, you learn in spite of it. The fact that you asked this question shows why you got past "school".

I always wondered how that happened? I thought they made a mistake?

Worst mistake they made was graduating me. Been getting back at 'em ever since.
