Bow International Magazine in WHSmith!Whilst you can find all sorts of wierd and wonderful magazines on the high street I'd never seen an archery one until today. Latest edition of Bow International in WHSmith at Lakeside shopping centre. Good for them, wonder if we'll see The Glade alongside them soon?

I get sent a free one every month, but I must confess that I don't find it very interesting. I'd much prefer a free copy of the Glade, or even Archery Focus.

Our local smiths has Bow International, and The Glade (if you know where to look - just behind the ones about ninjitsu strangely enough)

Within weeks of renewing my subscription to Glade I learned the owner want's to sell it and retire. Do any of you on that side of the pond know if Glade is going to stay in business or die like so many other good archery magazines like the original Bow & Arrow, Instinctive Archer, and almost Archery Focus?

Was this a question I wasn't supposed to ask? I'd still like to know what the future prospects are for Glade.

I'd concur with Bernie, until you said this I'd not heard of any possible change to the Glade, nevermind an end to it. Sorry for the non-reply but I don't know the answer.

Typical! If you enjoy metal detecting, you have a choice of three different mags in my local newsagents! Nothing on archery whatsoever....

Hi Dave sorry but I didn't answer this because I dont know either, your post was the first I have heard of any maybe changes to the Glade. If I do hear anything I will post it here.
Rider I dont have an archery magazine although over the years I have had the odd copy of the Glade and the Bow, a good place to see the different magazines available is on the archery shop websites such as Quicks page 74 they sell them and do mail order, not sure if this is available outside the UK though.
As to which is best is really up to personal choice, they all seem to focus on different types of archery.
I think some of these magazines have their own websites if you haven't already tried maybe a search engine would find them.
Hope this helps a bit.

I get the bow international when I go to archery suppliers and find some really interesting articles in them

I've read a fair few of the Glade, and Bow International, and would say I've come away with something good, and an enjoyable read each time with Bow International. In my opinion (and onlly my opinion - before anyone sets off on the motorway to come and knock my teeth out) Glade is a little more hit and miss. Some brilliant stuff in it on occasion, but I always feel like it's the pot at the end of a loooonnng rainbow - It's probably the better magazine if you subscribe and take every issue, as they do a lot of 'course' articles, i.e. those that continue issue to issue, and I find that the majority of the mag is dedicated to these, and if you only pick the mag up on the odd occasion 'part 6 of 9 of Such and Such's guide to mental conditioning for competition' isn't that helpful. Bow intenational will perhaps have one such 'article series' on the go to pull you back in time after time, but most of their articles are complete in one issue.
To conclude, to dip in to I would recommend Bow International ten times out of ten, but I have a sneaking suspicion that if you're looking to take a mag every month, the Glade is the way to go, though you may have to wait a couple of months until all the series' are current to the mags you've read to get full benefit.
