Book recommendationsWhat book would you commend to a newcomer?
Something that describes the technicalities and gives basic tips would be useful.
Is the Simon Needham book a good starting point?
Thanks

I would recommend Simon Needham's book to anyone of any level (stop groaning everyone... I'll stop plugging this book just as soon as someone writes anything better on the subject And I'm really not on commission). The book is primarily focussed upon target archery, but deals with all aspects from bow setup on day one, right up to the mental preparations required for international competition at Olympic medal. It's written in a friendly, easy to read, and informative way. It's also both a book you can read from cover to cover, and one you can dip in and out of, always finding something to read. It also contains details of what, for my money, is the definitive method of bow tuning.
So yes... The Art of Repetition is the book I would heartily recommend.

I still have my books but they are probably dated by current trends.
Several of the authers are dead; eg.. Roy Matthews & Al Henderson. Al Henderson coached Rick McKinney & Darrel Pace in the 1980's, when Pace won the Olympic Gold medal for Target Archery @ Los Angeles in 1984. Henderson was a keen Bowhunter, too.
His advice must still be pertinent today, though. Its the way he puts things over thats special.

Thanks for the replies...........I got Simon Needhams book...very interesting, the parallels with other sports which can be drawn from his practising recommendations are unexpected.
