Looks like a good course and a great day, do we get a full run down with distances ( its hard to judge on photo) and scores.
JimN

Now the truth about Malcy's mum's cake

I did get a small piece to try and It was beautiful

Liam is really looking forward to this

Very moorish think I'll go behind the tree and try another piece while no one is looking

And more Skippy just can't believe how much cake Liam has eaten
Steve B

Those pics are so good, nice to see most of my friends AR having a great time together. Maybe one day we can all have a great time together and get a reral group Photo. I shan'y comment on the cake episode , just let it be said that the cake did look good and to Dawn and Liam (who it would appear are trying to blame each other, when really I would suggest they are both guilty as read ) and Judge Bushy skulking of with the chocolate...you should have been there to put the cake nabbers on trial

Great 1st Birthday and well done
Dawn

However, I will endevour to make the next one, and also give this field Forest archery a go
Liam

I would just like to point out that Dawn was running around trying to take pics from all angles of me eating 1 piece of cake

I hope you didn't loose like that, or it would have got very costly you also wouldn't have scored very highly

Year, course it was
Malcy

It could be two things...either the arrow or a piece of cake!
Steve B

I am going with the cake here cause I am sure that was a set up pic.... so he could be accused of eating all the cake
Liam

Yes Dawn made me stand there at full draw without an arrow whilst she sorted her camera, eat a piece of cake then finally took the photo
jaselpool

Looks like you all had bags of fun! Maybe next year I'll make it over

Nice to put some faces to the names!

Berniethebolt

Brillant Pic Everyone looks like it was full of fun

Maybe I'll get to one of your shoots someday lol
Ratfighter

Just to add a couple of pics to the list.
Una Vita and I decided to shoot different styles for the event. Lord Farnham (seen in picture 2) kindly loaned me a very nice bow crafted by himself for the day and a set of arrows . It was the first time I had shot anything without a sight, pretty much ever and certainly at least 12 years since I shot anything without wheels. Una Vita shot a longbow, which has been propping a wall up in our house and has done little else for the past 7 years apparently. Stu369 (also inpicture made her some arrows the day before. She decided to bowshare with Lord F after getting off to a bad start. We all had a cracking time, The Lord deemed to stay and shoot with us all day this time (an honour indeed). Stu369 carried the BIGGEST bag in the world around all day. Lord Farnham carried Harriet around all day, Malcy carried U-V's bow around all day, and I got away with it lightly!

Malcy, Stu369 and myself. The bow came home with me, I hope Santa might let it stay!

Stu, Malcy, Una Vita (still with the Longbow at this point) Lord Farnham and Harriet
Joe(thebow)M

Thanks for sharing those great pictures! It's always a pleasure to see the world across the pond and get a feel for how our good neighbors take in a pleasent day in the woods! Sure looks like it was a lot of fun!
Ruthy

Oh and what would this be Liam???

Nobody got a look in with that cake
Steve B

Ratfighter and U-V you guys always pull one up out of the bag, nice to see you both shooting different styles.... and sharing the pics
Ruthy

Well as ratfighter said i started with the longbow then shared the Lords bow (recurve) for the rest of the day. I realised that longbow isn't for me i have had it for 7 years and shot it about 10 times it was re-tillered last year as i had intentions of using it, but it's just too much at 40lbs i like the let off that compounds give I'm afraid.
It's a tri-laminate with lemon wood, hickory and purple heart it was made by a guy who works at Bickerstaff bows but it's not a Bickerstaff bow although they do make that style rather than it spending the next 7 years propped up in the corner it should go to someone who will shoot it and enjoy it so i'm putting it up for sale in the classifieds.
Steve B

Trouble with it is Una it is left handed
Ruthy

Actually no it's ambidextrous believe it or not!! don't laugh!!

I had it made when i shot right handed, then i changed to left handed and a piece was put in the other side of the riser to accommodate so it really is ambidextrous
Steve B

hmmm...wonder what transport costs are to Oz? and more to the point your dollar figure or should that be pound ...
Dawn

I suspect some photoshop editing has gone on there
Steve B

Show us the originals then Liam
Ratfighter

I'm glad we got t see photos of the cake, Liam ensured it disappeared very quickly once the tin was opened!
"take 2 slices of cake into the wood?"
Not Liam, not when 8 are availalbe.
Even bushy resorted to the back up Sausage rolls
Bushy

Bushy didnt manage to have a sausage roll either I'm sure the Ratfighter polished them off
Liam

Erm....................
segolden

Gotcha moment, eh? Well deserved, though, as Steve B and we were in absentia and somebody had to take up the slack for us (not that we all needed such an excuse as actual attendance to eat well anyway ).
Steve B

Steve, you got that right, I love my food so Liam should be happy we weren't there otherwise he would have had less cake
segolden

Maybe we should think of a new club, "Obese Archers Anonymous". Everybody would have overweight compounds with every accessory imaginable, and shoot only "Fat Boy" arrows with heavy inserts and flu-flu fletching. Would not allow any targets beyond twenty yards because who could walk that far? LOL
Onewackybow

Having read this thread and looked at all of the pictures I fear that I shall have to have a serious look at this field archery - and not just because of the cake...
Berniethebolt

segolden

I knew it, no matter what excuse they have, it's the food that gets 'em every time.
Dawn

Onewackybow

So, tell me more about the cake...
Liam

Cake, what cake
Bushy

well Liam is really the person to ask about the cake as it did dissappear very quickly when he was around it but in his defence unless anyone can show that they still possess the original pictures either on phones (which are not submissable as evidence in a court of law) or on a flash card that cna only be used as evidence if there is no evidence of it being tampereed with.

Then I'm afraid that Liam will come up innocent

Cake, what cake

Forgive him father, for he has sinned. It's been 9 days since his last confection....

I know its the wrong thread but:

The corner shop baker was a true artist when it came to making birthday cakes. One customer asked him "can you make a birthday cake for my wife, she's an optician?" He agreed and produced a birthday cake in the perfect shape of a winking eye.

His next customer said " can you make a birthday cake for my husband, he's a dentist." He agreed and produced a cake in the shape of an open mouth, including the teeth and tongue.

At that moment another customer began to leave his shop, when the baker asked "can I help you?" The lady turned and said"no, I don't think so, it's my husband birthday today, but he's a gynaecologist".
