For those who do not wish to visit AIUK:

We are thinking about a fun shoot thats a little different. We have organised a shoot that can be shoot in teams, Teams of 4 or 2 or solo.
Basically, get as high a score as you can in 24hours shooting.
We have arrainged it so that only half the team are out shooting at anyone time, and get to pick your pit strategies. Instintive shooting only, (that would include face walkers, string walkers and gappers) but the teams can be mixed sex, mixed style mixed age.
There are some pre-requisits, but nothing fierce, like head torch and back red LED style light required for all archers out in the course at night.
There will be a BBQ running for some time for dinners.
The idea is, the shoot starts with groups at the pegs. starts at mid day sat. When you reach the tea hut, you may change archer in your team. As a team you shoot for 24 hours and at the end of this, the last group will be realeased at 12noon sunday. Groups will be released every 10 minutes from the tea hut, when there are 4 or more waiting.
BorderBows, in future could you please post full event details here rather than linking to another site as this makes it easier for our members to decide if they wish to attend or not. Many thanks.
I've also moved the post to "Club Lists & Events - Rest of UK".

Wasnt sure where to post it, but your comments are noted, I'll do a full cut/copy/paste next time!
Just thought people might want to attend our first 24hr shoot, especially it being a full 76 3d target field course.
It has been said by many, including 3 Austrian Field Champs to be one of the best field courses they have shot.
We plan on bringing the distances in a little as peoples concentration drops and the dark hours, so it will make shooting a little easer.

It does sound a fascinating shoot and I can't wait to hear what happens.

Is anyone on here going to this, I'd love a chance to finally meet some of you and you've got to admit this will be a really fun shoot and a great challenge.
If you're going stop and say hi, I'll be in the catering hut keeping you all fed and watered.

Just back from this shoot.
What a fantastic 2 days, everything kicked off at 12 noon on Saturday and it was true endurance style. Shooting did indeed go on all night and Borders did an amazing job lighting the targets, the eventual winer comleted 7 full rounds of the course (and managed to get a little sleep too) and shot excellent individual rounds scores to boot.
Needless to say the points did drop during the wee small hours but the humor increased in direct proportion. Everyone had a great time and I think all would do it again but only after a long rest to let sore muscles recover and catch up on missed sleep.
The weather was kind for most of the shoot and as always the company was excellent.
I didn't shoot so don't ask for my score, I helped out with the catering etc which Borders managed to run for the full 24 hours.
Next time I will be shooting it looked like the most fun you can have in the woods with a bow I've ever seen.
Thanks to Borders for hosting this fun and challenging extravaganza, and thanks to the caravan club for the fireworks.
