I'm sure you know aware of young Edward Brights battle against meningitis, here a few snips to refresh your memory/inform you of the story so far.

some good news... after surgery 2day, Edward has managed to save Both of his knees, only needing Below knee amputations so far your messages do mean a lot to all of us, keep my little one in your prayers. Thanx Steve & Clare X

On last nights East midlands News, there was an article about little Edward, I think he is in Birmingham hospital now, he has lost both his legs ang both his arms from the elbow.

He was in his hospital bed and talking with his family, so brave.

Claire was saying how lucky they were to have noticed the illness because he had no sypmtoms other than the spots, because his brother had had it a few weeks before and recoved they knew what it was and acted straight away, if they hadn't they may have lost him.

Aparently its a very rare form of meningitis that is not even vaccinated against.

Steve was saying how much they are looking forward to getting him home, and they will overcome all the problems.

They are all very brave and with such a positive attitude.

There will be hard times ahead but I am sure we all wish them well and will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

Good wishes to them all and if anyone hears more please keep us updated.

As those who have read the web board know of the recent tradegy of Edward Bright aged 7, we lost our son nearly 15 years ago aged 13 to Meningitus and Edward's plight really tugged at my heart and I felt I had to do something to help with his rehabilitation and his future. After speaking to my family and the blessing of Edward's family I decided to put on a shoot to raise funds. On talking to Hanson Bowmen at the weekend they have agreed to let me use their new ground and give me all the help and support I need, for which I can't thank them enough.
But I cannot do this without you!!! the shoot is now booked for August 12th, and I am asking for as many of the members to attend as possible, if you cannot come then maybe you would consider sending your entry of £5.00 as a donation.
I have lots of ideas to raise funds, but if you can do anything else to help please give me a call on the phone number under NFAS president in the newsletter, we are going to call ourselves for this one event only "Bright Sparks" more info later

We, the ‘Bright Sparks’ team are in the process of organising an Archery competition on August 12th of this year to raise funds for Edward’s future care. During the event in August there will also be a prize draw and also there will be other events taking place leading up to this archery competition.

As you can understand this is a very difficult time for Edward, his brother and his family so we are asking you to give a donation towards the prize draw in August. Just to give you an idea of the prizes donated so far we have a promise of some archery equipment form our local archery shops with values ranging from £20 - £200 we have some toys and games kindly donated from the local supermarket with values ranging from £10 - £25 and are awaiting responses from other companies we have written to.

Please could you help our little friend Edward Bright to bring a better future for him and his family.

On behalf of Edward and his family we the Bright Sparks team would like to thank you in advance for anything you can do to help.

Thanks Liam for getting this information together here I think most of the details are covered but if anyone want to know any more please ask either here or pm one of the team This is a copy of a message left on the NFAS website last week from Edwards dad (laughing assasin) Hiya all, have just returned home from Birmingham for a night.Edward is continuing to improve and is looking forward very much to attending the Bright Sparks shoot, saying he would like to shoot it himself...... my family and myself can't thank everyone enough for what they are doing for Edward and the messages you have left over the past few weeks. Just to let you know that some of the money raised will be buying 'Super Ted' one of his wishes- a custom cross bow so he can still shoot round the woods we will of course be attending the shoot ourselves and look forward to meeting and thanking you all in person. Thanks again to Hanson, Harry & Terri and everyone else and I will see some of you on Sunday at Shipley Outlaws. Liam I hope you do not mind me hi-jacking your line but I am trying to get things for the raffle.I am looking for handmade things.There are a lot of craftsmen out there.I sometimes get into the ENGLISHWARBOW.COM when I asked them the result was 1 hand made warbow 6forged arrow heads chainmalle bracelets 1doz arrows some medieval arrrows two cash donations and others.As I said I am looking for hand made things pref, a medieval theme leather steel or wood.COME A YOU LOT IT IS FOR A GOOD CAUSE.
