Rule 5)

5) There will be 5 leagues as follows;

Compound Sighted
Compound Unsighted
Other Sighted
Other Unsighted
Wooden Arrows
Sighted shooters will use a 40cm Vegas or Triple style FITA faces, unsighted and wooden arrow archers will use a standard 60cm FITA face, all classes will shoot from 18 metres (19.7 yards), 6 arrows per end. Please check the current schedule to see how many arrows are to be shot each month.

My question is that the rules say; '6 arrows per end.'

Am I to understand this correctly that for those of us who are shooting the 'Sighted shooters' and we're using either a 40cm Vegas or Triple style FITA face target,,,

should we shoot two arrows at each bull on the target per end for 6 arrows per end,,, or do we post two targets and shoot one arrow at each bull per end for six arrows per end,,, or are we to only post one target and shoot only 3 arrows per end until the required number of arrows for a given month's league entered is reached?

Sorry, I don't mean to be a pain about this with the league set so close to opening.  Just want to be clear on Rule 5 and be on the same page as everyone else so I don't muff it and lose my most probably last place scores I'll be posting in the Compound Sighted League...

Thanks!

I think you will find that rule 5 will be amended to say 3 arrow ends and 10 ends should make 1 round, I think we are going to be shooting 2 rounds for each Target League score that is going to be submitted. Don't quote me on this Joe(thebow)M. but I that is what normally happens as I understand it.

I am sure Liam will tell us when he next logs on

With me being not too hot on FITA rules, and not wanting to be governed by FITA for our 'fun' competition, I went for 6 arrows per end, for sighted shooters this would give you 2 arrows per target on a vegas or triple style face.

Is this too greater risk of smashing nocks for our better archers ?

If so I see no problem with having two faces in use so you can still shoot 6 per end but at 6 targets.

There may not be a lot of room left in the spot. I think that it may be best to leave it to the archers discretion. I personally would prefer one at each spot, especially after ruining 5 arrows at a fun shoot yesterday!. Although I have nothing against using 2 faces, I was hoping to pin my 36x 360 FITA faces on the ratcave wall

I like the idea of leaving it the archers discretion whether they shoot 2 arrows at  each bull or post two of the 3 bull targets.  Two verticle '3 bull' targets could be posted side by side, that would only be an area of 17" x 26", that isn't too much area considering that the 60cm target takes up an area of 25" x 25"...

How's about (for sighted archers) 1 arrow per spot - in ends of 3 or 6 arrows

You may enter as many leagues as you wish.

Hows that sound ?

I can live with that Liam, as Ratty501 says , no room in the X for more than one arrow, and apart from that , I know I would damage arrows shooting two at the spot, thats why I shoot a 5 spot for Indoor IFAA.... so thanks for the option Liam...great
