Hi Liam
I think I may have to drop my name from the Target League as our club only shoots Target indoors and when we shoot outdoors its a field shoot and I don't have the space here at home to set up a target
Bernie
Liam - I have split this from the original thread and added a poll to the post, we'd love you to stay Bernie if possible

Bernie, I recon if after each end of arrows you walk outside and then back in you wont have done the whole round indoors will you
besides I think the other answer could also be, would your club let you set your target face at the 20 yard practice butt and you shoot it there ?
thats what I am going to have to do
The other thing is maybe the rule should be changed to shot outdoors or indoors depending on your facilities available.

I have a question. Does it really make that much of a difference if a person shoots indoors or outdoors for our target leagues? I ask as I have only ever shot outdoors with the sky as my roof, and if it's a matter of the 'wind' playing a part, well a person could actually wait for a calm day to shoot outdoors which duplicates the no wind indoor conditions.
Personally, I think the lighting would be better outdoors, but as I said, I have never shot indoors.
I do realize the tempature would also play a part, but again,,, couldn't a person wait for a warmer, or cooler day before they shot their league arrows. We also have two months that we are using as catch up months if it was to bitter cold and windy to shoot outdoors a particular month.
I do hate to see an archer drop out of the leagues because of where they can or can not shoot their bow to take part in the AR Leagues. Couldn't we work something out?

I've split this into a seperate topic,
I know a decision was made by me to shoot this outdoors, this was made in the interests of having a level playing field for all.
Having said that I have no objections to where we shoot, I will be shooting all mine outdoors as I currently have no indoor facility, if everyone agrees we can drop the outdoor ruling and maybe just have an * next to the indoor shooters for those competitive ones amongst us to measure their scores against only those shooting outdoors or vice versa.
I'll edit the original post to include a poll

I can understand the issue here and one of the questions raised is an interesting one
Ruthy and I were discussing how much difference it would make, choosing a mill pond calm day in good light against an everyday session in a sports hall, with poor light.
So in the interests of science, as we have access to both kinds of facility, we'll have a crack at indoors and out and see the comparisons. I would doubt there would be more than a handful of points in it.
Cool an AR experiment!!!

At this moment it only directly affects Dawn and Bushy... so IMHO its their opinions that we should consider first.

I voted "yes" and the reasons are that at 20 yards IMHO it makes no difference I know that I can place 4 arrows in the X on a 35 CM face in IFAA from 23 yards down to that rotten 15/14 yard target. I seem to have trouble doing that indoors sometimes for some reason. I think that the difference is going to be Zip unless the conditions outside are terrible.
To me it doesn't matter as I can shoot both indoors or outdoor at the practice butts and the only extremes I have at the moment is days at 40 degrees C, but thats life

After further reflection I say yes, I'd rather keep Bernie in the league and relax the rules a little.

Sorry... It was my post that started this! I really don't mind, I have access to indoors and outdoors, I was just asking so if I only had chance to shoot one or the other one month, I wouldn't be breaking any rules. I reckon that being indoors, for someone who is of a decent standard, is probably worth about three to four points maybe. Someone new to archery, possibly a few more. I also think it's more to do with the temperature than the wind (but that's just the way I see it), the people who are good are going to shoot good scores whether they're inside or out. So it really isn't an issue to me either way. I say Yes.

I'll run this for a couple more days even though I think the vote states what our thoughts on this are already
